Synopsis:
“Artist Proof” is an exploration of Anthea’s artistic journey, blending elements of mystery and supernatural discovery. As she grapples with the desire for recognition, the emergence of a cursed canvas challenges her perception of reality, ultimately pushing her to despair.
This narrative delves into the pressure artists often face in their creative endeavors. Anthea’s struggle for recognition mirrors the challenges many artists encounter as they seek validation for their work.
The mysterious canvas serves as a metaphorical representation of external pressures and expectations that can haunt an artist’s mind, pushing them to question their abilities and the worthiness of their creations, creating an air of anxiety around them.
Character Breakdowns:
Anthea (Female, 17): LEAD
Anthea is a talented and determined artist. Frustrated by the lack of recognition, Anthea opens herself to the idea of expanding her usual artistic style to a darker tone. However, before she can even begin, Anthea’s character undergoes a transformative journey as she unravels the mysteries surrounding a cursed canvas that ultimately leads to her demise.
Caleb (Male, 17 – Anthea’s Boyfriend): SUPPORTING
Caleb is Anthea’s supportive and understanding boyfriend. He brings a comforting and humorous presence to Anthea’s life, standing as a pillar of support during her artistic struggles. Caleb’s laid-back demeanor adds warmth to the story, and his character provides essential emotional support to Anthea.
Casey (Male, 15 – Anthea’s Brother): SUPPORTING
Casey is a necessary element in the unfolding narrative. Initially blamed for the actions of the canvas, Casey eventually becomes entangled in the mysterious events surrounding it.
Carina (Female, 34- Anthea’s Mother): FEATURED
Carina is a single mother and the sole provider for her two children. Though a minimal role, Carina embodies strength and provides unwavering love and encouragement to Anthea.
Art Store Employee (Male or Female, 28-45): FEATURED
This character is the friendly and helpful clerk at the art supply store where Anthea shops. The interaction with Anthea contributes to the narrative by providing a supportive and encouraging presence, as well as dialogue that foreshadows what is to come.
