Synopsis:
The Shadow of Death is one-part true story & one-part supernatural horror film. In 15 mins, this film tells the story of a vibrant and daring young man, Shane, who loves to live on the edge. All of that changes when hi near-death-experiences bring him face to face with Death. Shane bargains his soul in exchange for more time on earth, but afterward his carefree spirit is compromised as Death begins haunting him. Shane begins struggling against his own descent into madness as he realizes with increasing certainty that the price of his deal with Death won’t be his own soul but the soul of his son, Donny. Will Shane find a way to rescue Donny’s soul before death comes to collect? Or will his increasing paranoia, fear and panic get the best of him before he has the chance?

**To see casting call and other production details, go to https://www.donnygrimmproductions.com/casting-call Shane (LEADING ROLE-COMPENSATION FOR THIS ROLE IS OFFERED) – Caucasian, 35-50 yrs old, any hair color but red & grey is fine– including bald men. Shane has a fun-loving, larger-than-life personality. He’s a risk taker with a heart of gold—the type of person that can light up a room with natural charisma. A fire fighter by profession, he’s capable of heroic & selfless acts. However, Shane also has a darker side— and as the story progresses he alternates between being a fun-loving dad who parties with his kids to being a more angry, aggressive & judgmental father who condemns his son’s wild behavior out of fear for his soul.

FORTUNE TELLER CARNEY (UNPAID- Compensation is in film credits, drinks, food and $25 amazon gift card) : Female, any ethnicity, 35 or older. This character is the traditional gypsy fortune teller type — lot of scarves, jewelry and an over-emphasized air of mystery. It’s during a fortune telling session with this character who reads fortunes at carnivals/haunted houses that Shane begins to realize that Death is haunting him.

(Remaining characters have already been cast including the other principle character, Donny (Shane’s son), Sharon (Shane’s Sister) & Death.)
