| Synopsis: |
| “Plug It Up” is a coming-of-age comedy short about an awkward 14-year-old girl who gets her first period right before a pool party. The story follows a young girl, Mia, and her best friend, Jess, as they decipher the mystery of putting on a tampon for the first time. My goal with this story is to entertain as well as further normalize the subject of menstruation and encourage young girls to educate themselves and ask for help. |

| MIA (14) awkward, self-conscious. Mia realizes that she’s sick of being a follower and that she never really wanted to go to the party.
JESS (14) Mia’s best friend. The leader out of the two. She’s more preoccupied with not being late to the cool kids’ party. |
