Synopsis:
An estranged son that works in politics returns home for the first time in over a decade. With his newly pregnant wife in tow, he faces the horrors of the life his mom has been living with a pseudo-religious right wing cult.
Character Breakdown:
[MAX] [MALE] [AGE: 25-35]
Max is newly married and confident with a kid on the way. He has the backbone to work in politics, fights for what he believes in, but is nervous for his return home.
[ALICE] [FEMALE] [AGE: 20-30]
Alice is an expectant mother and wife to Max, she’s mainly concerned with keeping her young family together as she visits Max’s childhood home for the first time. She’s a peacemaker but has a breaking point.
[DARCY] [FEMALE] [AGE: 40-60]
Darcy is Max’s mother, left alone in a rural town with her new husband, Buddy. She’s meek, nervous, and sympathizing.
[BUDDY] [MALE] [AGE: 50-60]
Buddy is Darcy’s new husband, Max’s step-father whom he’s never met before. He’s one of those stepdads that tries way too hard to be approachable.
[DAVID] [MALE] [AGE: 30-60]
David is the town “pastor” who’s pious, charming, and possibly drug-addled. Darcy and Buddy hang on every word he says as though it’s gospel.
