Our quarterly film intensive is a Four-hour class covering the basics for everything you need to know to be a crew member on an indie film from Development to post-production theory.

Topics include but are not limited to:

  • Developmental processes
  • Roles on Set
  • Pre-production vocabulary
  • Script breakdowns
  • Storyboarding
  • Shot List
  • Call Sheet
  • Art department vocabulary
  • Camera exposure
  • Lighting
  • Composition
  • Audio recording
  • Post Production vocabulary
  • Script Supervising

At the end of the presentation, you will be invited to participate in our DFC “Flash Film”. The Flash Film will be written by the team, and as a team, you will assign roles and plan to complete the film within six weeks! Those that are successful will be screened on our 4K projector and promoted on our social media page. This is a great opportunity to put what you learned to the test!

This is a fun and exciting opportunity to collaborate on a creative accomplishment.

FAQs

Will food & refreshments be served?

We will have small snacks like apples, bananas, pretzels, potato chips, crackers and other small bites. We will also provide bottled water.

Are there minimum age requirements to enter the event?

If you are under 18, you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parents must also pay to attend the event. At the moment we do not have a way to allow minors to attend our events alone.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is plenty of parking in front of the church.

Can I just come and watch but not participate?

Watching our instructors give the lessons is part of the course, you will need to pay to attend the event.

What can I bring into the event?

You may bring notepads with pen/pencil. We will supply drinks and snacks.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You need a ticket if you purchased your admission ticket within 24 hours from the event start time. Failure to do so may involve in a delayed entry or charges at the door.
