Flash Film are our way of getting filmmakers together and cutting to the chase, filming!
Our members are given a theme, put into teams, and have 6-7 weeks to complete their film.
Teams are made up of individuals working together for the first time, and come from all levels of experience. The goal is to get the film done, no matter what.
We believe the best way to learn is to do, and this is our way of pushing for that belief.
The DFA helps teams through production with follow ups and guidance to ensure they stay on track for completion.
Films that are submitted by the deadline get to get screen at our Flash Film Screening.
Flash Film Screenings are organized event with all the completed productions plus Q&A from the filmmakers.
Our goals with flash films
- Cut the talk, get filming.
- Connect the community with new filmmakers they have never worked with
- Focus on completion, and cut the excuses out.
- Members get paired with a crew, no one is left out.
- Provide guidance and support to flash film teams, but ultimately let the filmmakers learn and grow through personal experiences.
- Provide an experience for first time filmmakers to complete a film.
- Give experienced filmmakers the opportunity for leadership and mentorship.
